The question, the problem of the disposal of ships, we also say scrapping or dismantling or recycling, has caused great fears and concerns internationally for years, because it was handled in a completely wild way, and there were always huge dangers for health, for safety, and for the whole environment, and notably the state of the sea.

The 206 ships that we have under our maritime flag will one day go out of service too, and will then have to be recycled under the conditions of the law that we are voting today.
