\nThe Chamber debated projet de loi 8053, which transposes the EU mobility directive on cross-border mergers, divisions and conversions of companies into Luxembourg company law, and adopted it by 58 votes to none with 2 abstentions (Marc Baum and David Wagner); it also adopted motion 1, tabled by rapporteur Stephanie Weydert on behalf of every group except déi Lénk, asking the government to evaluate the law and the notary's anti-abuse check after one year.

It is important that our financial centre and our company law stay attractive and competitive, even though we have to respect the same rules as every other European member state in EU files.

Luxembourg is unfortunately the last country to transpose this directive, and it does not look good on us to limp behind on such essential subjects as the international mobility of companies.

On this point I would recall and point out that with all these controls we must at the same time take care that they do not slow down cross-border operations too much, or that the single market does not diverge more widely in general.
