\nThe Chamber debated projet de loi 8349, which changes the staffing key of the law of 23 August 2023 on the quality of services for elderly people before it enters into force on 1 March 2024; the text was adopted by 57 votes with 3 abstentions and the attached motion was rejected by 34 votes to 23 with 3 abstentions.
\nMandy Minella (DP), presenting the report and stating that staffing will still rise despite the lowered requirements:

Even though the requirements are lowered slightly, more staff will be present in the structures in future than is currently the case, to assure the best possible care.

In our view the text would have to be reworked once more, so that the presence of staff is really proportional to the needs of the residents.
