\nOn an LSAP heure d'actualite on Luxembourg's position on the new NATO targets, Liz Braz tabled two motions, the first asking the government not to tie the defence budget to an arbitrary percentage and to decide no further rise above 2 % of gross national income for now, the second asking for a detailed spending trajectory and more transparent NATO accounting; the Chamber rejected motion 1 by 37 to 17 with 6 abstentions and motion 2 by 35 to 25, and it then voted the reclassification of career soldiers into grade B1 (8450) and the extension of the Alliance Ground Surveillance contribution (8485).

Mr President, at the NATO summit in The Hague Luxembourg made a strategic choice together with all the other NATO nations, to invest 3.5 % in pure core defence and 1.5 % in infrastructure, civil security, resilience and the strengthening of an industrial base for defence.
