\nThe Chamber debated and adopted projet de loi 8515, which extends special surveillance measures under article 88-2 of the Code de procedure penale beyond terrorism and state security to all crimes and a list of serious offences, by 52 votes to 4 with 4 abstentions, and adopted unanimously a motion by Sam Tanson asking for an annual report and an evaluation of the measures after three years.

We are not talking about mass surveillance of innocent citizens, but about targeted, justified use where there is a serious suspicion of serious crime, and always, and I must stress this again and again, under judicial control.
