A consultation debate on the central themes of our food, opened by the agriculture minister around six fields of action for a first national food action plan; three motions were tabled during the debate, two by déi gréng (both referred to the agriculture committee) and one by the Piraten, which was withdrawn after the minister's reply.
Within the consultation debate on food, the Chamber discussed healthy eating, overweight, food labelling and safety, and meals in schools, hospitals and care homes; the minister answered the questions at the end of the debate.
During the food debate, several groups pressed the government on the Mercosur trade agreement, the EU budget for food production, and the new EU agriculture commissioner's vision, which the Chamber is to hear on 31 March; the minister replied on import standards.
Before the food debate, the foreign minister answered questions about Luxembourg's part in the EU sanctions adopted on 17 March over the conflict in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and about the ceasefire agreed in Doha between the presidents of the DRC and Rwanda.
