The Chamber discussed the government's position on nuclear power in Europe, the lifetime extension of reactors in the neighbouring countries, the EU taxonomy classification of nuclear energy, and the effect of the German nuclear phase-out on electricity prices. The nuclear plants were simply blown up. These plants were built for billions of euros and would have delivered cheap and secure electricity for decades more, completely independent of wind and sun, and we would have been far less open to blackmail by external energy suppliers such as Russia.
